STOCKBASE
provides a highly comprehensive examination of the worth
and quality of all companies listed on Bursa Malaysia.
User friendly and easy to understand, the computerised
STOCKBASE has the following unique features:
- Updated
on a systematic and continuous rather than ad hoc
basis. The data and opinion in each report is updated
every month to incorporate all new development (if
any).
- Looks to
both the future and the past. Future prospects,
earnings and dividend forecasts as well as normalised
earnings are provided to aid
valuation.
- Companies
are rated in the tradition of Standard & Poor's. A
highly critical rating is provided along four
dimensions - as Stability of Dividend & Earnings,
Financial Strength, Management Strength and Growth
Prospects.
STOCKBASE can be
accessed through a PC (or compatible) system, using
the Microsoft Excel Programme. It consists of a
database of information on 650 selected companies
listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia. It is
categorized into two main divisions - Tier-1 and Tier-2.
Tier-1 comprises 450 largest capitalised and
most liquid stocks selected by us. Tier-2 consists
of the next 200 stocks selected on the same criteria.
The difference between Tier-1 and Tier-2 is the rapidity
of the updating as new information become available. For
Tier-1 stocks , we try to update the information in the
database within the month of it becoming publicly
available while that of Tier-2 stocks would be updated
within three (3) months. The amount of information on
Tier-2 stocks is also somewhat less. The total data size
is about 300 megabytes.
